Dancing Beyond the Dark: Reaching those with Vision Loss Through Dance

Social dancing is a gift. It can inspire confidence, create social connections, improve memory, contribute to physical fitness, and more. Watch the video to see first-hand the difference that dance can make in the lives of people with vision loss.

Most social dancers cite dance as a primary part of their life, and a large contributor to their social circle. These people come from a huge variety of backgrounds. Some may have started as teenagers, but most started in their 20’s, 30’s or beyond. This diversity is testament to the fact that anyone can learn to dance – including the blind.
